[He chuckles low in his throat, relaxing back into his chair again.]

Actually, I'm taken. And I don't kill people for no reason. So if Kai doesn't try to harm me, I won't have to hurt him.

[Tenar shifts, then turns around to sit sideways in the chair, letting his legs dangle over the armrest.]

That's good! Then nobody has to hurt anyone else, and we can just all be nice.

[No, he didn't forget it at all... he's just willing to hurt someone to protect someone else, especially if one of those two are his friends.]

[Laughing:] Oi, oi, is it alright to assume that? You don't even know me.

[Chomping into the beef jerky, he tears it apart with his teeth and swallows it down. Could use more blood... Or, well, any.]

[He turns over on his side, resting his chin on one of his arms and looking at Bakura curiously.]

No. It's just odd that you assumed something like that so fast. You're pretty quick to decide on shit that should take weeks, if not more, with anyone else.

[...really, Bakura's far too relaxed for someone discussing his host's inevitable crippling if that shit happened.]

Maybe. But I'm not afraid of hurting people I like to protect other people, so it's easy for me to decide it. I don't like hurting or killing people, but I can't be a real hero if I'm not willing to stop someone doing that just because they're my friends, right?

And even if we can't all be nice, if nobody's hurting anyone else, then it's okay to just keep going.

It's a fine line between hero and vigilante, Tenar. If you're willing to hurt even the people you like to stop them doing something you don't like... that doesn't sound like a hero.

But it doesn't matter to me. Do what you like. Though Kai won't be too happy with you if you damage my host too badly.

It's not to stop them from doing what I don't like. It's to stop them from hurting people who don't deserve it.

[He sticks his tongue out, apparently taking offense to the assumption he's just going around beating people up for disagreeing with him.]

Then I'll just stop you without hurting your host! I can tie you upside-down to the railing outside.

[Chomping down on a crisp.]

[Jeez... what a child. But he does still want to keep him relatively on his good side. So after a a while:]

I already said I don't kill people needlessly. I wasn't joking when I said I owed Kai my life either. That bastard's not in any danger from me.

[He's just grumpy because you shot down his whole "hero" thing. :T But it's clear he's not really that angry, just doing that childish pouting that brings his age into question again.

So after a bit more, he just stretches out, making a noise and moving his shoulders to the armrest, his head hanging down off the chair now.]

So what's it like being a ghost?

...Boring. I can't really do anything but sleep or think when I'm not using someone else's body. I can't touch anything physical, or even hear or see things.

But there's enough entertaining things when I do have a body to mess around in to make it worth it. You wouldn't understand most of it. Not that it's difficult; but the thing that makes it interesting comes from three thousand years of being bored enough to find anything new interesting. Someone as young as you can't comprehend that level of boredom.

Wow... you're a really old man, huh?

[Thankfully, for all his childishness, being told he's too young doesn't seem to be something that bothers him, and he just shrugs a little after thinking.]

No, probably not like you. But I live in a place like this with my mom and dad -- our house is in the middle of a huge forest and we don't go to the city a lot, so I didn't see a lot of stuff before I went to Uncle's school and started traveling with my friends.

So I can kinda understand, at least a little!

At some point, try something for me. Go somewhere quiet, so quiet you can't even hear the birds, and plug your ears. Take that bandanna of yours and fasten it over your eyes. Lie still for a while.

Five minutes of that should be enough to show you what I'm talking about. I can't take away your ability to feel, but that's close enough.

Um... that'd probably be somewhere inside, right? I could find somewhere like that...

That already sounds really boring, though!

[He laughs again, a short, sharp barked-out laugh as he relaxes.]

I've lived out human lifespans like that~! Being a ghost's a total pain. You should treasure your life while you have it.

Back home, you'd just go to heaven or hell if you died... I don't think we've got ghosts that get stuck in stuff!

But I'll make sure not to die in your world. You probably can't bring people back to life, either, if you're in the Ring...
