Okay, then...

Tell me about how fighting works. You don't know about ki, so do you guys do martial arts at all? Or do you just use weapons?

Fighting's frowned upon. People can learn martial arts for fun or self-defence, but they tend to leave fighting to the police.

There are weapons, but using them is considered very bad, and killing or harming another person will get you imprisoned. If you're caught, anyway.

[He sounds amused.]

I guess there's not many strong people in your world, if the police can handle it?

[He sounds incredulous, like Bakura just told him wars were solved by kittens.]

Of course there aren't. I just told you that ki wasn't a thing there. Most people can't do worse than bruise each other without weapons. And weapons can be duplicated.

Apart from exceptions like me, there's very little the police can't handle.

[Sorry, he's just having trouble processing it, considering the world he's from has been blown up at least once now.]

You could say that. Most people live their entire lives without experiencing the slightest threat.

That's... well, pretty cool for them, I guess. I think it'd be way too weird for me, though...

Are there not even any martial arts tournaments?

Nothing major. There's a few rare ones you see on movies and you can visit small ones every so often, but martial arts isn't really that common a thing.

This is Duel Monsters. It's one of many games we play and the most popular. Whoever it is you met before must be a duelist; you should probably ask them for details if you're interested.

[Bakura doesn't have the patience for teaching people jack shit.]

Yeah, I probably should go find him. He was trying to teach me when we couldn't understand anything each other was saying! He was talking the same garbled language you were, too, so it was even worse.

That was probably Yugi-kun. Our very own "Duel King".

Yugikun? That's a... really weird name.

Uh... he had some kind of upside down arrow thing that felt really hollow. And he was wearing a lot of leather.

The Millennium Puzzle is a Pyramid, not an arrow. But that's him.

Oh! ...yeah, I guess it did look like one of those, now that I think about it. I just hadn't really seen any before.

I guess the way it's made, it'd have to be hollow or it'd be really heavy... though it and that Ring thing of yours still look pretty heavy for normal people to wear anyway!
