[He shrugs a little, rolling over again to look at Bakura with his head rested on his arm.]

[Throwing his head back, he bursts into peals of laughter.]

We have more in common than I thought! Maybe you would understand my enjoyment of interesting things more than I expected.

He frowns a little at Bakura, sitting up and rolling his shoulder back, a little on edge with the chill that sent down his spine.]

[Lifting a hand, he points at him dramatically as he speaks.]

I think you and I are going to get along just fine.

[Him? Annoying? Admittedly, he knows he can be a little overeager, but "annoying" has never exactly come up.

...then again, he's not talked to many people. So he lets it go, blinking a bit but giving a grin.]

Heheh. [Drawing his hand back, he tosses the wrapper for his snacks aside and finishes off his soda.

...come to think of it, Kai will probably be even madder that they're getting along. Oh well~.]

Kai healed it up, so it's back to normal now! Didn't even scar that bad because of that!

I still don't get why he did it, though... it wasn't that big of a deal.

It could have killed you, you know. Infection's a nasty thing. You're supposed to at least disinfect things like that to avoid having to lose 'em.

But that wound was pretty serious, as human wounds go.

If I was going to die that way, I would've done it a long, long time ago. I've gotten worse wounds while fighting, you know! We all did.

That kinda cut wasn't gonna do anything. It didn't go deep enough or hit anything important enough.

[Yes, he just brushed off a Ring-stabbing as something to not be concerned about.]

...hoh... Tenarrrr-chan~, you didn't notice, did you? Even if you don't believe yourself vulnerable to infection - which is foolish at best, if you're human - there's another risk from this thing. You narrowly risked death when you tempted the Ring's anger.

All I can think is that the reason you weren't harmed was that only one of the prongs managed to penetrate. That or how fast you drew away.

[So much confusion. But he just shrugs a little.]

No, stuff can get infected. But I've fought since I was a little kid, and my body's really strong -- strong enough that I can ignore stuff like that for a while before I take care of it. I was gonna clean it later, but Kai got to healing it first.

But... what do you mean? I know the Ring's prongs are sharp, but I wasn't in a spot where you could stab my heart or anything...

[Waving a hand dismissively, he sits up.]

This Ring of mine has a secret... and it doesn't need to penetrate your heart for it to work. It's better if it does, but... the defensive measures of this Ring have nothing to do with their sharpness. It's got a special defence mechanism, you see. So it's probably best not to antagonize it again.

What does it do?

It's something you add to the end of a name to denote their status and display politeness. Little kids like yourself get "-chan" added to the end of their name, adults get "-san". There's a whole bunch more.

[He smiles slowly.]

Heheh. It incinerates you from the inside.

...Um. Why do you do that instead of just calling them by their names?

[Oh. Oh dear. Tenar's eyes go wide, and he eyes the Ring with a lot more suspicion now.]

How does it do THAT?

Beats me. It doesn't talk or anything, so hell if I know how it does anything.

[He can't exactly argue the idea of that, but geeze, a whole kind of system just for that? No wonder they didn't have any fighting tournaments, they were too busy with silly stuff.]
