[Sigh. Malik closed his eyes a moment, squeezing the lids together as if that would will his tiredness away. It really had hit him out of nowhere...how strange.]

He's not like that all the time, at least not towards me...and even when he is, it can be kind of fun. Depending.

[Dismissively, less due to disinterest and more due to the growing heaviness of his eyes.] It's hard to explain, and I don't really feel like bothering.

...? You sound tired. Maybe I shouldn't have pressured you to eat more after all.

[Surprisingly, he doesn't feel guilty at all about drugging him. Even though it was annoying, since they were in the middle of talking. Oh well.]

[Ugh, he really was exhausted. Malik gave his eyes a rub, jokingly muttering.] What the hell did you put in that soup?

Tofu, coriander, ginger, udon noodles, peas, edamame beans, asparagus... a few other things. Hopefully you're not allergic to anything in there.

I was joking. [He yawns again, head lolling slightly and his eyes dropping.]

Nn... [Even the table looks like a nice place to rest his head right now.]

Ehe... sorry. Maybe you should go lie down?

[Getting up, he offers a hand to Malik.]

I had things I needed to do...feh, what a pain.

[Malik slips off the chair, ignoring the hand and dragging his feet to the bedroom. He really looks like he might just pass out on the way there, but he manages to make it to the bed first, flopping with utter drug-induced exhaustion into it.]

... [Well, better hide the evidence and leave him to it. Dissolving the remaining pills down the drain, he grabs some of his paints and drips a little over the box to hide the name, making it look accidental. Just in case Malik found the box somehow. Which would be hard, since he was just ripping it up and taking it out with him to drop somewhere else.

Sigh. Well, Malik needed to relax some, anyway.]

[The next day, the Thief King awaited Ryou's successful theft. He was in such a good mood, he just laid in his nest, picking his teeth with a chicken's bone as he waited. He could just go find the kid, but ehhh. He just ate. Why move?]

[Well, that was a lead-in if there was one. Steeling his nerves, he stayed there in the doorway and spoke firmly.]

[He blinked, eyes now darting to inspect Ryou's person before settlign on his face again in a leer.]
