I know I am... and I know I won't be happy with a lot that you do, if what Ryou-kun said is right. But...

Like I said. I owe you a lot... and I still want to at least try. I really enjoyed doing all those things with you, and if you felt the same, then I'm sure everything else... it'll fit somehow.

[Moving so he's in front of her, he reaches out a hand to rest it against her chest. Closing his eyes, he focuses. Enough of this. Come out. he orders the fragment, drawing it free. Between the glow of the Ring and the visible energy of the soul fragment, it might be unnerving.]

I put this inside of you a while back. I'm taking it back now. Consider it a gesture of goodwill.

[Holding the soul fragment in his hand, he looks down at it with a strange smile. It probably won't be able to be re-absorbed... Should he just destroy it? Even though it's something so precious?

For the moment, he just fuses it into his knife.]

[Karasu tenses up visibly when he's in front of her, eyes narrowing a little but making no move to stop him. It is unnerving, very much so, but she'll go on a bit of trust for now.]

What is -- was -- that?

...heh. I split my soul a while back, and put part of it inside of you. That's the real trick behind that special communications method I spoke of. So it won't work again.

[Moving back, he leans against the tree again.]

I probably won't be able to reabsorb it. Once it's split, it's split. Souls aren't easily reconnected.

[She closes her eyes a little at that, blowing out some air.]

Let me guess... it knew everything that was going on with me?

O-oi! I didn't do anything of the sort! It's not like I could see through it or anything! It may have observed everything, but it didn't tell me shit unless it was important!

It doesn't matter if you've had or not, it's still rude. And it's not like I can hit it, so you'll have to deal with it!

[Really, she doesn't care that much about it. But being able to argue a little like this makes things almost feel normal again.

Their friendship... it's definitely changed, but maybe it's not as much as she's afraid of. Her voice calms a little, but there's almost a hint of teasing in there, if Bakura listens carefully.]

...heh. [He grins a little. That barely-noticeable playful note makes him feel like nothing has changed.]

[She sticks her tongue out, letting her legs stretch out and blowing one of the bangs out of her face.]

But I'm a teenage dragon girl. Wouldn't that make it more risky for you? What if I sneezed and randomly changed? Then you'd be stuck under a naked dragon butt.

...that one would be kind of hard to explain, wouldn't it? Though your dragon butt is usually naked, unless you've somehow developed the ability to magic a dragon-skirt on.

Sadly, not yet. I don't think a skirt would suit me anyway.

Maybe a dragon suit? Then I'd look well-dressed while breaking down walls.

Heheh. It'd definitely be something worth seeing. Maybe it'd get you on that billboard! "Warning: Occasional well-suited dragon causes structural damage on occasion. Beware of being sat on by dragon butt."

Maybe I should add a monocle, too. And learn how to drink tea with my claws.

Then I can be a gentlelady dragon.

We'd have to get you a pretty big cup. Short of ripping out a bathtub, I can't imagine where you'd get it.

I could always carve the bathtub up! I'd have to get a LOT of tea for that, though...

[He has to check his watch to confirm it. Right, so it is... He nods, looking a little awkward.]

...Ryou-kun. I'm sorry I ran away. I really am, because... nothing has to change between the two of us. I still want to be your friend, and do everything we said.

[He gives her a friendly smile, relaxing slowly. To be friends again... he's glad for that. Really, really glad.]
