Phew... it's kind of unnerving being on the other end of this thing.

[Hopping down off the bed, he reached out to tug the staple gun from Malik's hands. With the other boy still holding onto it, it wasn't too hard to fumble it and put pressure on the trigger in just the wrong position...

Hey, be--gaauuh!

[Malik knocked Ryou back and himself as well, curling up onto his side as he cringed at the stable that was now imbedded through the fabric of his jeans into his leg.

He kept hissing out the same word in between the occasional nonsenses sounds of pain.]

Xara xara xaraaaa...Aahhaa... [As much as it hurt, it did start to dull down after a minute. But even then there was an intense throb rippling out from the puncture wound, and his leg felt strangely hot.

At the very least it didn't seem to be bleeding much, if at all.]

M-Malik-kun! Calm down! I've stapled myself before, I can take the staple out.

[Pinning Malik's legs, he took a look at how bad it was. He couldn't see the actual wound, but it looked like it would be difficult to take it out carefully.]

Are you okay with me taking it out? It'll just hurt a little.

[With the initial seizing rush of pain gone, Malik managed to find his voice. He really only had one thing to say to Ryou as he braced one hand against his chest and shoved him back.]

You fucking idiot! Don't touch me!

Sorry... I didn't mean to do it, Malik-kun. It should come out really easily if you pull it.

[He didn't bother to give him the advice about following the path it came in.]

This is why I don't trust you with sharp objects! [He spat back bitterly, scooting himself back to get a better look at his leg. The staple had locked his pants against his leg, so he had no choice but to take it out like this...]

Ghh... [Malik reached out, grasping the staple between his nails and giving it a small tug--only to immediately recoil with a hiss of pain.]

Can you manage it?

[It's true, he shouldn't be trusted with sharp objects. He'd almost stabbed his own foot with his sword, once.]

Of course I can manage it--just get the hell off of me!

[Malik really wasn't sure if he could. Just touching it caused the pain to flare up, he can't even imagine trying to pull it out...]

... [Sigh.] It'll start bleeding a lot once it's out, so hold on!

[Slipping off of him, he goes to grab a glass, returning to sit beside him on the bed.]

We don't want to get the bed soaked, and the cold glass should soothe your leg a little. It'll go easier if it's taken out in one go, so do your best, okay?

... [Malik waited, expecting Ryou to come back with something to stop the blood, not a glass. He shot the boy an irritated look, his patience already well past its limit.]

You fool, what am I supposed to do with that? Where's the bandages?!

[Sorry, Ryou, but even Malik knew enough about first aid to know that one usually doesn't use a cup to stop bleeding.]

You're supposed to let it bleed for three minutes to force anything left in the wound out, so this should be enough to catch the blood. As to the first aid kit...

I keep a spare under the bed.

[He grinned a little.]

[Dubious, but satisfied with the answer, Malik scowled at Ryou's grin for good measure before focusing on the staple once more. He reached forward, pinching it between his fingers and giving it a short-lived tug before submitting to another cringe.]

Dammit...!

...here. It'll be easier if it comes out all at once.

[Leaning over, he grasps the staple firmly between his fingers, tugging it out in one smooth - if deliberately wrong-angled - move, and pressing the glass there to make sure it doesn't drip onto the bed. Good... there was plenty of skin taken off with it. Along with some fabric.]

Sorry... I'll sew up your jeans for you later.

Aaughh! [The staple coming out hurt ten times more than it had going in, and Malik almost knocked the glass clean out of Ryou's hand when he suddenly jerked his leg away, body tense and trembling as it dealt with the rush of pain and adrenaline.]

Xara! ...Ghhh, uhh...xaraaa... You bastard... I'll make you pay for this later.

[His leg twitched occasionally at particular powerful spurts of pain, but other than that Malik simply cursed and groaned, watching his blood run down the side of the glass and pool at the bottom.]

Sorry... [Man, that was close. He waited as long as he dared, staring at the reddening glass.]

[Grasping the first aid kit, he cleared his throat awkwardly.]

I'm gonna need you to take off your pants so I can bandage you up... unless you wanted to do it yourself?

I've had about all I can stand of you. [Malik bitterly mumbled as he grabbed the first aid kid, turning to glare halfheartedly at Ryou. The boy may have been trying to help him, but this was still his fault. He just wanted him out of his face right now.]

[Taking the glass and the staple with him, he slipped out of the room. Jeez, Malik hadn't been this mad at him since he'd punched him in the face a couple of weeks ago.

Well, at least he had his excuse for disappearing. Scraping the flesh from the staple into a sandwich bag, he fastened it up and tossed the staple out. Well. Best get this blood to that guy before it started coagulating or anything.]

[Malik didn't care to answer Ryou, and simply started to remove his pants so he could tend to his own wound. He'd learned enough of the basics through the directions Lisa had given him regarding Bakura's care to know how to tend to a simple thing like this.]

[And Bakura was still in his dorm. Today really was a lazy day for him.

At least he'd moved from his nest to the coffee table where he sat carving crude pictures into it with his knife.]

[He was tempted to just disregard the instructions, but... Sighing, he remembered his last lecture and knocked on the door.]

What are you knocking for?! [Bakura's voice was laced with genuine irritation. It's not like he was busy. All that knock managed to do was make him fuck up his drawing.] Just come in!

[Gaaaaaah, this guy! He was pissed off, to say the least. Opening the door, he crossed over to the coffee table and set the glass of blood and the small bag down.]

[His irritation seemed to melt away in an instant at the sight of that blood and baggy.]

Ohh... You did it! Well, well, I didn't think you had it in you~ [He reached over, grabbing the baggy first and inspecting the bit of flesh inside. Dark skin...then it definitely wasn't his Ba's.]

But knocking is how you know I'm there, so how can you tell me?

[That jerk... He sighed, stepping back. What was this guy thinking? Like he'd have let his friends die.]

Given the incentive, it wasn't like I had a choice.

[You'll just have to figure that out on your own Ryou, because he's already moving on and dunking his fingers into the blood. He tilted the cup so as sure to soak them before bringing them to his lips and trailing his tongue over them.

The blood had a different taste to it. Sweeter, almost.]

You've passed. Now, [he licked his lips, smudging blood across them,] maybe you've learned your lesson, and won't try to betray me again! H-heh heh heh...you're lucky I let you off at all.

[Gesturing for Ryou to come over with that bloodied hand of his, he barked an order.] Now come here!
