[Malik folds an arm over his chest and covers his face with his other hand, his eyes focused on the ground. Did Bakura seriously just call Harriet his girlfriend?! Maybe spending all this time so near to her soul had had a bigger effect on him than he realized, because he was blushing like mad.]

What happened before that--you deserved it! Don't try to play innocent...!

Hoh... you're one to talk. I'm not playing innocent at all, Malik. I know precisely how far from that I am... do you~?

[Bakura grins and sets off again, ignoring the aggressive wiggling of the pink bundle in his arms.]

Harriet, if you're going to get rude, you could just levitate yourself there... I certainly won't mind!

What are you two going on about anyway...

[she looks between Bakura and Malik, and can't help but notice the tomato red the fragment has turned. Her eyebrows raising, she slowly turns back to look ahead. She'll pretend she didn't see that.]

Levitation, are you serious? Hmph.

[well, she could try, but that'd be weird too. She's considering it though, and seems to have settled down.]

Feh... [Not wanting Bakura to reveal anything unsavory, he falls into silence behind them. An extremely brief silence.]

Levitation is easy.

That's right. Like I said before... this is your 'world'. You can change the rules of it as you please.

I'd say you should think of a happy thought, but you don't even need to go that far. You just stop letting gravity affect you. You just have to want it not to. Like this.

[He lets go of her suddenly.]

Like what- AH! [she falls on her ass, of course. And then just starts thrashing again.]

God damn it, Bakura! Do I look like a baby bird to you!?

[Okay, even Malik is back here laughing at her right now.]

Heheheh...hahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA! What?! You didn't manage it? I'd have thought the desire to avoid hitting the ground would have been enough... you really must be unimaginative!

[Bakura's laughter echoes through the forest of her soul.]

Arrrgh! That's not fair! I wasn't ready, you...

[Harriet's face turns red from the embarrassment. How dare he insult her imagination!? She imagines herself into the air and spinkicks him right in the fucking face.]

[hey look she finally found a way to punch him in the soul.]

Whoa! [He didn't see that coming. Malik blinks a few times in shock before breaking into a grin.]

Good aim, Harriet! Kehehe...

[Bakura hits the dirt, sprawled there for a moment before sitting up to stare at her in obvious shock.

...really that was more like kicking him in the soul. But close enough!]

Heheh... heheheh... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Looks like you got the hang of it!

[Hey, it's not like it's serious damage. He's lax enough to not mind.]

Heh. It's no wonder. You don't know how long I've wanted to do that, you hyena.

[with that done, she's floating herself down and upright so it can almost look like she's standing normally. As normal as she can be while she's still completely tied up, anyway. She casts a sideways glance to Malik]

Cheered you up, didn't it?

[He catches up to them, no longer moping behind.]

I don't normally enjoy seeing people kick my boyfriend in the face, but somehow you were both just asking for it.

I don't mind. Though you've got a lot of nerve, considering you're helpless in the real world...

[Bakura teases a little playfully. He still can't really deny the hyena joke...]

Luckily for you, I'm not interested in helpless women! I guess that's the most un-hyena-like thing about me.

How was I asking for it? He just dropped me! [huff.

Bakura's point makes her shiver a little though. It's not that she thinks he's considered doing anything - she hates being vulnerable in front of anyone, let alone him.]

That's right... I guess it's hard for me to picture when my soul is literally up and kicking. [she frowns, trying not to let it bother her too much, but...]

Where am I right now? I didn't even ask.

Ah, you're in our dorm. It was safer than the nurse's office, especially once I changed the locks. I put you in the top bunk, like before.

[He sounds nonchalant, but there's a dark note in his voice when he mentions the nurse's office. People coming and going in there so much... it's troublesome for anyone to be vulnerable there. There's no way he could have kept her safe other than taking her in... except maybe giving her to Henry, and there was no way he'd do that. Not that Henry wasn't capable... but this was his responsibility.]

[So she's in their dorm... it wasn't long ago that she was staying with them, but she did not expect to return so soon.]

Oh... that's troublesome. I suppose with the way things are, there really isn't a better way to handle it.

[still, the fact that he's taking care of her is kind of ... not what she expected. She's not sure what to say about it yet.]

Troublesome? I'm not going to let that asshole kill you. Compared to that, this is pretty easy to handle.

...Anubis is a bit confused by it, though. He can't figure out where Malik's gone, and why there's someone else that never comes down.

[He sounds a little amused at recanting that bit of information. Though the mention of Malik is still enough to bother him, even with the fragment here.]

Well, I guess that's true. Scary, but true. [Harriet sighs, not really comforted by any of this, although she didn't expect to be.] Thank you, at any rate.

...Poor pup. [That's not amusing - THAT'S DEPRESSING.]

O-oi... I'm just doing it because Malik would be unhappy otherwise! That's all!

[The look on his face says otherwise. It seems he's as bad an actor as Malik is when it comes to this sort of thing...]

[So Bakura was taking care of Harriet and Anubis... He doesn't remember if he made him promise that or not, but he was thankful for that much, although his heart ached at the thought. It was easy to forget, being just this small fragment of a soul, but he knew the fondness that his main soul had for the animal and so it hurt him too.]

Whatever. [She was trying to be cool with that thank you, but he had to make a big deal out of even that. It's a little embarrassing. She doesn't want to be in this position!

...But he said that, and Malik didn't even say anything else. Harriet notices he's being a little quiet.]

Uh, you've gone pretty silent! Something on your mind?

[obeytherod]

Huh? [He looks up, seeming to rouse from his thoughts.]

No, I was just listening...and thinking. I'm not used to having people to talk to.
