[As if in response to those words, Bakura falls silent, retreating into the Ring to allow Ryou his peace.

Closing his eyes, Ryou leans against him a little more, feeling a little better just for his presence.]

I'm grateful you're here even now. Though if this sleeplessness keeps up, I might need to take you up on that offer to temporarily make use of an empty dorm some night.

I could do that. We wouldn't have the barrier that the dorm has, but I could set up the monsters, ensure that everything is locked and covered...

[Sigh. He moves his hand off the Ring, holding Ryou close. This warm presence... he doesn't want to lose it, even temporarily. No.]

Whatever it took for you to be safe.

[fluffydeathdealer]

[And Ryou is happy to be held, cuddling close and relaxing entirely at last. He lets the Ring rest on the rock beside them. His voice lowers, a whisper in Henry's ear that the Ring couldn't possibly pick up.]

Father... I think I need to train harder. I don't like being helpless like this.

[helpusduelist]

[Henry gives a slight nod, shifting so that Ryou can see his smile.]

Whenever you wish, we'll start training again. You should have healed enough for the more intensive parts.

[fluffydeathdealer]

Un. I'll do my best. [He returns the smile with one of his own.] I'm healed quite well for the most part. There's just some persistent burns that're being troublesome.

[helpusduelist]

[He places a light kiss on Ryou's head, smiling.]

Good. I'm glad to hear that it's mostly clearing up. I wish I could do more to heal them for you, but when my card's magic doesn't work, there's not much left.

My arms and leg's fine now, so it's just the worse ones that's struggling. I did a little research on them. Apart from scarring, there's probably some pretty heavy nerve damage, and that won't heal, but the parts that are hurting will heal healthily within an undisclosed amount of time. That's something, after all.

[helpusduelist]

[Even parts that won't heal... sigh. That beast was truly terrible.]

Yes, it is. I might have to start putting you through your paces to get your body in a bit better shape.

[fluffydeathdealer]

Un. I'll work as hard as you like.

[Though that description makes him groan inside. Through his paces, indeed...]

[He pets Ryou's hair again, softly.]

After you rest, I think. Just in case.

[fluffydeathdealer]

[With a little noise of tiredness, he nods, resting his head on Henry's shoulders.]

I feel like I haven't slept in a month instead of just a few days...

[helpusduelist]

Sleep now, if you need to. I'll keep watch out here. And at worst, I can carry you inside. [He chuckles.] You sleep rather... deeply.

[fluffydeathdealer]

If I can... I might be too tired.

[It sounds like an oxymoron, but he knows how hard it can be to sleep when you've stayed up for a while.]

Eheh... Am I really that bad? You're the one that pinned Uncle Jack and I on the couch that time, remember...

[helpusduelist]

Truthfully, I don't sleep very deeply often at all. I don't wake up at every sound, but something loud or unknown movement will quickly wake me up. It was more that it was with you and Jack that allowed me to sleep like that.

It was... an interesting experience.

[fluffydeathdealer]

Maybe we're just that calming... or maybe you just like Uncle Jack that much.

Who knows?

[helpusduelist]

[Henry laughs a little at that.]

It could be both. I have said that Jack is one of the few people I feel genuinely comfortable with, haven't I?

[fluffydeathdealer]

Un. It's nice, when you meet people like that.

[helpusduelist]

And you're one of them. My precious son, no matter what happens.

[fluffydeathdealer]

Father... I think... I would like to go back with you someday, when you find a way.

[His voice is sleepy and for a moment, he seems to doze off only to jerk awake again.]

[helpusduelist]

I'd love that, if you did. But make the choice later, when you're not so tired.

[He pets Ryou's hair again, soothingly, trying to help him doze off to sleep.]

Mm... [The petting helps and after a moment or two, his breathing evens out a little. His sleep isn't exactly undisturbed, but it's something.]

[It's going to take more than this to make sure Ryou actually sleeps, Henry knows. But hopefully at least a nap will reassure him a little bit.

As it is, he begins to hum a soft lullaby, looking out over the water and letting his mind drift back to that very home. The ocean, the travels on the boat... the different scents of the air and the difference in temperatures...

Even if this place has granted him so many things, Henry is truly beginning to miss England. His hand tightens a little on Ryou, the other pausing for a moment as he muses.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

[Ryou murmurs something unintelligible that might have been 'keep going' or 'start rolling'. Hard to tell. He tenses momentarily in Henry's arms, mumbling something about 'too many teeth', and hides his face in his sleep.]

[helpusduelist]

[...What in God's name are you dreaming of? Henry resumes the petting, though he leans down a little to mumble some more descriptions of England and the Lancastrians in Ryou's ear in the hopes to influence those dreams... or nightmares.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

[Purring slightly in his sleep, Ryou seems to relax, the whispering helping. Though from the later murmur of 'Uncle Jack, why are you in a dinosaur suit?', they're still strange.]
