[Malik starts to rifle through Bakura's cards as he listens. It would take too much energy to summon every monster here to be sure, so he'll just be taking a "peek" inside each of the ones at his level to see if he feels anything significant.]

I see... So that's why they can summon so many at once, and why they seem to be unhurt when they're destroyed. It makes sense then, and by that logic I should still be able to summon Ra; the card chose me after all.

Keh, and don't worry about Henry...if she tries to tell him anything, my soul fragment will know and stop her.

[He stops at Man-Eater Bug, eyes flicking open as he holds it in his hand a moment. This was the monster Bakura had left to guard him that one time while he was injured, wasn't it? He remembers idly playing with the beast as well. Was that why he felt a connection?]

Yes; they're not supplying them with their own energy like we are. To be honest, it rather unnerved me to begin with. I've never seen anything like it before.

[He watches Malik work, curiously. His own deck was carefully selected, but he feels far less of a connection to them than one would expect. As he'd said to Henry, he would trust few of those monsters not to destroy him if he didn't have control over them. At least Malik doesn't seem bothered by the obvious obsession with death that most of those cards seemed to display.]

But you know, if you manage to do what they do, you'll never have privacy again unless you leave your deck somewhere. Those devils are always popping out to annoy me when I talk to Henry.

If that's the burden I have to bear in order to summon Ra and get out of here, then so be it. All this means is my suspicions were right...learning their method of dueling will make this easier.

[Malik keeps Man-Eater Bug tucked between his index and ring fingers as he continues to look through the rest of Bakura's deck.]

I'll have to talk to Harriet again soon. She's had some time to mull over our last conversation.

[It felt like he'd taken two steps forward, but one back. Now she was even more suspicious of his other self now, but luckily his confiding in her had seemed to undo the most of it.

If only he hadn't let his emotions get the better of him that day...he might have been summoning Ra already!]

Heh. If you can summon Ra in that form, I'll be quite impressed.

[Folding his arms over his chest, he sits back and watches Malik. He doubts it will work like that. Ra is too powerful to be bound that way, surely. And with the will of the monsters... no, he really doubts Malik can do this.]

I think it'd be more impressive for me to summon It by our usual methods, but there's no time for that. This will have to do.

[Malik hands Bakura back his entire deck, barring that one card.] I'm borrowing this, unless you have a double.

Keep it. It's a common enough card, I'll be able to replace it.

[He scoffs a little.]

You're talking about making a contract with the highest of all monsters. I'll definitely be more impressed if you can do it.

[Malik puts the relatively weak, but still "connected" card into his deck.]

I'm the only one here who knows the chant to make Ra attack. There's no one else who can do it.

Now...should I demonstrate how I've grown? Kehkeh...

...? Care to elaborate on that one? Are you planning to summon something right here?

[Bakura stares at him blankly. If he is, he's going to get a punch, because he actually does like this dorm. If Malik wrecks it, he'll be quite irritated.]

What else? [Malik seems like he just wants to show off. He reaches back, looking for that 5-star monster he summoned earlier...]

Oy. If it's big, you'd better go into the hallway to do it. I don't want this room ruined.

[obeytherod]

It's not, don't worry.

[Ah, there it was: Vampire Lord. Malik pushes his chair back, scrapping it against the floor as he rises to his feet and turns towards the living room.

Closing his eyes in concentration, Malik mentally reaches into the card and begins the summoning process...

A portal opens up, just to the side of the coffee table.]

[Folding his arms over his chest, he draws one leg over the other as he watches. Malik really has grown in skill... he can tell just by watching.]

[It takes much longer than his other summons, and it clearly takes a lot more energy, but what matters is the fact that Vampire Lord is soon standing in their living room awaiting command.

Malik lowers his hands to his side with a slight swing, overwhelmingly pleased with himself.]

Whew...keheh! There it is!

[fluffydeathdealer]

[Looking impressed, Bakura hops off the table and approaches, leaning over to study the monster curiously as it stares back at him.]

Not bad! I'm impressed, Malik!

[obeytherod]

[Vampire Lord stares at Bakura a moment and then looks towards Malik again, as if expecting an order.]

I told you! And, not just that...but I can still summon those other monsters at the same time.

[Just as an example, Malik pulls out the first card from his special set and holds it out. It was a 4-star monster, so there was no way he should be able to summon it normally when he already had Vampire Lord out...

But he does. It still takes a second, but it's impressive nonetheless. At least...until it turns out it was Thunder Nyan Nyan, and she joyously wraps her arms over Malik's shoulder and giggles.

Malik looks caught between shoving her off and leaving her there. But his ego has certainly deflated a bit.]

[Bakura snickers, wishing he had a camera right now. It'd be a good thing to make into christmas cards, that's for sure.

But this is really impressive. For Malik to be able to summon more than one monster at the same time... he must have trained hard. He eyes him suspiciously, wondering if he got help from somewhere.]

My, my. She seems fond of you!

[obeytherod]

[Not willing to let Bakura get the better of him a second time, Malik puffs and wraps his arm around Thunder Nyan Nyan's waist, pulling her possessively closer. LOOK WHO HAS A HOT MONSTER CHICK ON HIS ARM NOW, BAKURA!]

She is one of the cards I felt a connection with. [Despite the arm, he doesn't look all that interested.] Why I felt it is beyond me.

[His eyes narrow at that. Despite Malik's obvious disinterest, he feels like he's being disregarded.]

What, what? Are you planning on replacing me with her?

[obeytherod]

...Bakura are you serious? [His tone is utterly flat. It's so stupid...it's not even worth using as fodder!]

[fluffydeathdealer]

Of course not! You look so irritated by her presence that I can't even pretend to be serious.

[obeytherod]

[In an instance, Thunder Nyan Nyan and Vampire Lord are returned to their rightful cards and replaced in Malik's deck.]

I've never had a monster be so clingy... [Be he supposes, he doesn't really mind her that much.] At least she's cute.

[Damn, he was enjoying Malik's discomfort. Oh well. Just going to steal some of his food as he goes back over to him, grinning wildly.]

What? Want me to wear little horns next time I go down on you?

...? Go down on me? [Malik's not getting it. Slang was definitely one of his weaker points.]
