If you think about it, alchemy is tied pretty deeply into the concept of immortality. Some people even say alchemists could create what was called a homunculous, or a living body to transfer life into.

[A soft laugh.]

But I only know what people talk about in stories.

Still, if that's a possibility, I can't discount it. I'll have to talk with them some later and see what they know about that, if anything.

[He shoots Henry a suspicious look.]

Father... [There's a scolding note to his voice.] Have you and the Charmers been teasing him? You know that's kind of mean, right?

[Henry gives an innocent look back, trying desperately not to laugh.]

I've done nothing, but they certainly can't resist. Only a little bit of teasing, though. Just some water here or a flicker of fire there.

[There's giggling from behind them as Hiita and Eria peer out from the cliff edge.]

If it's just pranks, that's okay, but you shouldn't be too mean!

[He wags his finger playfully at the two of them.]

[The two nod in reply, making a "cross your heart" gesture before disappearing. Henry laughs a bit more himself, glancing down.]

So it seems I won't have to worry about any other children I have with you around! They might end up mistaking you for their father instead of me.
