This guy had years of training on him and even if he'd been close enough to try it, he'd have been stopped in a heartbeat. On top of that, even if he was threatening his friends, killing someone via self-sacrifice - like he'd tried to do in the game of darkness - wasn't the same as killing someone with your own hands.
